How did the first 24 hours go?
Hello everyone,
The webmaster has been writing code for weeks, the Comms team have been wrangling content, and somebody has been doing something with images and something called CSS. Yesterday it all came together and the DWCon 2012 website went live.
Memberships have now been on sale for 24 hours, and we've sold over 200! At this rate we will be sold out on Sunday![1]
Errr, not quite.
The first fifty are reserved for Guests and Committee. Also, since some of the Committee signed up before we went live[2], about ten of their family members were pre-registered.
So, just over 140 memberships sold in 24 hours. Still not bad going. We'll be sold out on Tuesday![3]
Errr, not quite.
Curb your enthusiasm there. Everyone knows that loads of eager people sign up as soon as it goes live. Things soon slow down.
Oh, right. But it is a good start, isn't it?
Yes.
And the server didn't melt or anything, so that's good too, right?
Yes.
Good. I'll go back to answering email now, shall I?
You do that.
Goodbye everyone.
Keep buying those memberships!
