This blog is only the start of it

So here we go the start of preparations for The Discworld Convention 2012.
Well not quite...
For the members the launch announcement last Wednesday was the start of all the planning, and plotting. People join the various groups to learn more, and to start making friends prior to the event. This isn't the start for the Convention Committee though.
Planning for the 2012 Convention started before the 2010 Convention, I know that seems hard to believe but while in the busiest time of 2010 preparations  the next Convention Chairman was anointed, in a solemn ceremony which may or may not have involved alcohol. he then started to discuss the plans with the people he wished to be part of the 2012 Committee- this may also have involved alcohol, or not.
During all the work for 2010 we were taking notice, listening and thinking about how things could be improved for the next Convention.
Then we have a rest, really, we need it*
Soon though plans start to take shape, a new Committee is born (slightly different to the old one but usually with lots of similarities)  conversations are had, contracts are negotiated, web sites are coded, logos are commissioned. Guests are invited.
Until suddenly, it happens, and we launch the details of the Discworld Convention 2012 on you.
