Kate Oldroyd
In 2002, at the age of ten, Kate attended her first Discworld Convention. She had a Good Time, particularly the bit where she won two prizes in the Maskerade for dressing up as a tap-dancing rat.
In 2004 she was twelve, and dressed as a saxophone-playing dwarf for the Maskerade, which she entered with her parents Ian and Mandy. They won best-in-category, which she enjoyed, although she didn't really enjoy the bit where she had to wear a chain mail waistcoat for two hours.
In 2006 she was fourteen, and dressed, rather more sophisticatedly (although that isn't saying a lot), as an Agatean style doll. This was for the Maskerade again, which she entered with her parents, again, and Sheila. This time they won Best-In-Show, much to their surprise, especially Sheila.
In 2008 she will be sixteen, and won't be dressing up as rats, dwarves, or dolls, as her reputation for 'being a performer
' (according to her parents, anyway) landed her a request to be on the Productions Team. She said yes. Then realised that throughout the next two years she would be doing her GCSEs. But by that time, she was in too deep, so she's stuck there.
She enjoys dancing, acting, drawing, painting, taking photographs, sewing, meeting new people, reading, listening to Real Music, and strangling dogs. Well, one dog anyway.
Don't call her Katie. Unless you have appendages that you don't mind losing.
