Diane Duane and Peter Morwood
Working individually and together, Diane and Peter are Science Fiction/Fantasy authors and writers of live-action and animated screenplays. While both have been full-time writers for many years, Diane was first a psychiatric nurse (after losing a battle with calculus in pursuit of an astrophysics degree) and Peter is an escapee from the Civil Service with an English degree.
Diane is probably best-known for her Young Wizards series, which started with So You Want To Be a Wizard? in 1983 and she is currently working on number nine, A Wizard of Mars, which will be published in autumn of 2008.
Peter is particularly known for his fantasy series Horse Lords (recently republished as two omnibuses) and Tales of Old Russia. They've also written media tie-ins with their Star Trek books being especially well-received.
The pair's last big TV project was a popular German mini-series, Die Niebelungen (Ring of the Niebelungs), which they wrote with director Uli Edel. The series starred Kristanna Loken and was broadcast (in different formats) in the UK at the end of 2004 and 2005.
Having left their respective hearths in Northern Ireland and America, Peter and Diane now live in a hundred year old cottage in Ireland in County Wicklow with Peter's sword collection and a host of cats, including their latest addition Pip who loves drinking olive oil. They will once again be guests at the Discworld Convention where hopefully there won't be a repeat of Peter's most tragic and regrettable inhumation when he was Head of the Assassin's Guild last time.
