Lionel Fanthorpe
Lionel Fanthorpe has done so many different things in his life that this biographer seriously wondered if he was really two people or perhaps a joke made up by SF fans to fool the uninitiated (like the time Terry "lost" the Missing Chapter from an unpublished DW book on the Internet years ago). Just a few of the labels that can be pinned on Lionel are journalist, teacher, author, lecturer and TV presenter.
During the fifties and sixties, he wrote SF and horror books and is said to have produced the most books in the shortest time of any SF author, sometimes turning out a book a week.
Lionel has a life-long interest in investigating paranormal phenomena and old mysteries, on which subjects he has co-authored a number of books with his wife (and manager), Patricia Fanthorpe. Their most recent book is Most Mysterious Murders and Talking Stones. Couch potatoes might better know him as the Harley-riding vicar who presented Channel 4's Fortean Television series.
