The Shend
Discworld fans will recognise The Shend (aka Chris Shendo, aka Chris Harz) as the actor who played the Hogfather in the Mob Film production.
Music fans of a certain age (e.g. our chairman) will recognise him as the founder member of a string of surreal and innovative post-punk bands such as The Cravats and The Very Things. Observant Discworld fans will also have spotted him as the barbarian chieftain in The Colour of Magic when that was screened on Sky One this Easter.
Really obsessive (I'm sorry, I mean "keen") fans will know him as "Second Thug" from the 1995 TV production of Johnny and the Dead. Compulsively keen fans will be turning up not only with copies of Johnny and the Dead and The Colour of Magic for him to sign but also much treasured copies of his 1984 album The Bushes Scream While My Daddy Prunes (as long as they are willing to queue behind our chairman).
Inbetween these career landmarks, Shend has been a columnist for Bizarre Magazine and a radio presenter. His film and TV credits include The Bill, The Detectives, Red Dwarf, Torchwood, and Fur TV.
He claims to have had a real job, once. For a week.
