You do have to feel sympathy for Kate, at a young age she was forced along to her first Convention (insisting on entering the Maskerade as Sardines) by her parents. She kept having to go back despite having Childline's phone number programmed in her phone, for some reason they never came to rescue her.
Now as a fully fledged adult, she returns to her role on the productions team working alongside John and Pam. Together they produce the spectacular theatrical productions the Convention is infamous for.
She also bears up quite well to having her hair ruffled and told how cute she is now she is all growed up... *
