Jerry Elsmore
Jerry's main job at the con is to ensure no difficulties will be endured! AKA Get the Programme to run on time (some might suggest this is an almost impossible task but we haven't the heart to tell Jerry).
When not attempting the impossible at a Discworld Convention he can be found designing, developing and playing games. Usually these have a political and historical perspective, some of which involving frocking… as an example he's played Herakles in The Siege of Troy, Lord Stanhope in Sharp and Sensibility and Baron Munchausen in Masquerade.
When asked why Jerry volunteered to help run the programme again he gave us this answer:
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so unto them” (Matthew 7:12) is more commonly translated these days as “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” or in more local dialect, “Tret folk as you want to be tret”, but no matter how it’s said, it’s that basic principle, coupled with an over-developed sense of ego, the belief that accepting you have a problem means you’re more than halfway to solving it and a determination to find win-win solutions that drives me to stick my head over the parapet and agree, yet again, to help ensure Programme happens!
