Getting to the hotel


How to get to the hotel by car, plane, train, bicycle, hot air balloon or shanks' pony.

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel is next to the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) and 8 miles from central Birmingham. With easy access to the motorway network, the hotel is 10 minutes’ drive from Birmingham International Airport.

Courtesy Bus

Due to major security measures in force at Birmingham International Airport, the courtesy bus service is no longer direct to or from the airport. All hotel guests travelling from Birmingham airport should take the mono rail to Birmingham International railway station where the free courtesy bus collects (see below). Guests can use the free telephones in the airport or station to ask to be collected.

East Midlands Airport
 

Taxi

From East Midlands Airport, taxis are available to take you directly to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel. The journey normally takes around 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel forecourt.

Getting to the hotel by rail


Birmingham International Train Station

From Birmingham International railway station, guests may use the free telephone to arrange a collection to the hotel, by courtesy bus. The journey to the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel takes approximately 5 minutes. The 24-hour service runs at 30-minute intervals.

It is possible to walk* from the train station (or airport) to the hotel.  The quickest route is through the NEC complex.  Please follow the map shown below.

Birmingham New Street Train Station

From Birmingham New Street Station, take the train to Birmingham International Station. The journey normally takes around 10-15 minutes depending on the time of day.

Getting to the hotel by car

When travelling by car follow signs to the NEC. The hotel is easily accessible from Junction 6 of the M42 or Junction 4 of the M6 (leading to the M42).

Car parking is available at the hotel for all convention members and is charged at a flat rate of £3 per car per day.
