Tall Ships Youth Trust
In addition to the Orangutan Foundation, in 2010 the Discworld Convention supported the Tall Ships Youth Trust, a charity one of the Vice-Chairs volunteers for.
The Tall Ships Youth Trust is the world's oldest and largest sail training charity and is dedicated to the personal and educational development of young people aged 14-25 through crewing their ocean going vessels. Currently 43% of the young people the Trust takes to sea come from a disadvantaged background or have some form of disability.
To support their youth work, they also offer tall ship adventures, active sailing voyages for those aged 18-80.
Thanks to our generous members we were able to donate over £8000 to this very worthwhile charity.
