The Ankh-Morpork Grand Exhibition

The Discworld Convention is four-day celebration of Sir Terry Pratchett and his glorious astrochelonian-riding pachyderm-borne creation.

The Ankh-Morpork Grand Exhibition is also a four-day celebration of the culture, technology and industry of the great city of Ankh-Morpork, which is coincidentally being held at the same place and time. At least from a certain point of view. This is what you get for hiring a history monk as an event organiser.

The 2014 event will take place from the 8th to 11th of August at the Palace Hotel, in Manchester, UK.

A note from the desk of our esteemed Chair and Head of Alternatively-Living Studies

Well, we've gone and sold out! That means over 800 Guests, Committee, dealers and attendees will be descending on the Palace Hotel next August for a fun-filled four days of Discworld goodness. Look at the shiny countdown timer at the top of the page... less than a year to go. I don't know about you, but I'm getting excited already!

The Committee are hard at work planning this marvellous event and we will be bringing you news and updates about some of these PLNs over the next few months. I know you are going to have questions like "Will [INSERT NAME OF FAVOURITE EVENT] be on the programme?", "Will there be Guilds?", "How do I sign up for the Gala Dinner and the Maskerade?" or "What will the cider taste like?" but please be patient and all will be revealed in time. Some of them we don't know the answers to yet, some we do and are waiting to tell you properly and others, like the last question, we all may find out together when we get to the hotel.

We are still in need of people to volunteer their time and talents, so if you have some special skill we should be aware of or maybe you just feel moved to help, log into your account on this website and update your membership by ticking the "I want to help the committee" box or you can email volunteers@dwcon.org.
